I was fortunate enough to get to test out an improved pair of R.E.Load’s Lockdown straps. The first set I had, amazing; These, even better. With some length added to the loop velcro side of the straps and a different stitching style on the lowers, the new Lockdowns should not only be stronger with a wider range of adjustment, they’re a little prettier as well. Hats off to R.E.Load.

I though I’d throw these up here as well. Recently, when I was browsing the R.E.Load website, I noticed a few new, limited colors:

Grip’d

I’ve had a hard time finding a reasonable replacement for the old style ODI Longneck grip. Fortunately, Fyxation recently released a grip that I’ve been riding for some time now and have found to be more than adequate. The grips, patterned after their popular Session tires, are cushy, comfortable and durable. I tend to grab my bars like a nervous maniac and wear through grips rather quickly. I’ve had zero problems with these. In addition to the grips I’m running a pair of Fyxation’s alloy bar caps. These have been especially nice since all I’ve ever know are easily damaged plastic bar ends. I’m boring and I like black, but the grips are available in more colors; pink, green, orange and white. The bar caps are available in corresponding colors as well. If the BMX style grip doesn’t suit you, Fyxation offers the same thing in a track style. I highly recommend these if you want a grip that looks good, feels good and wears long.

Death Peddling

I recieved my copy of Death Pedal 2 today. The first thing I noticed upon pulling it out of it’s plastic was the quality of the packaging. I expected the case and DVD to look a lot less cool than they do (no offense Kareem.) The cover artwork is pretty rad. Overall it looks really good.

Ok, so, the riding was pretty cool and the editing was great, but my favorite details about the film were the animations that preceded every riders section. It’s attention to detail like this that makes a film really fun to watch. Between the cool extra features, animations, riding and Kareem’s editing, I’d say this is well worth your money.
